ImgtoImg is an Image to Image AI generator and editor. Start with a reference photo, describe what to change and what to keep, then refine your result in one workspace.
Clearer requests, control over edit scope, and model choice in one workspace.
Less Explaining. Clearer Edit Requests.
Words and visual marks make location-specific changes easier to communicate than a text prompt alone. Area marking is available when editing a generated result.
More Control over Your Edit.
Guidance for edit areas and transformation level makes your intent explicit, from a small adjustment to a new look. Marks guide the AI; exact preservation isn’t guaranteed.
Multiple Models. One Workspace.
GPT Image 2, GPT Image 2.5, and Nano Banana 2.1 are available in the same editor, without switching between separate tools.
Each generation, follow-up edit, or variation uses credits. Review the cost before generating.

A New Look for Your Photos & Artwork
Try a different background, clothing color, or illustration style for a profile image, personal project, or artwork variation. Check faces and other identifying details before keeping the result. For oil, watercolor, and other painted looks, explore Photo to Painting.
Explore backgrounds and visual treatments for product photos or campaign concepts. Check product shape, color, logos, and text before publishing; a convincing image may still change important details.
Explore lighting, materials, and atmosphere from a sketch, illustration, or render. Treat the result as a visual concept, and verify dimensions and geometry in your design software.
Check supported image formats, output options, and editing limits before generating.
Your Input
Reference Image
Start with one reference image in this editor. To combine two images into one composition, use our AI Image Combiner.
Formats & Quality
JPG, PNG, or WebP. Use a clear image with visible subjects and important details.
Your Output
Number of Outputs
Generate 1–4 output images per initial request. This setting controls generated results, not uploaded references. Each follow-up edit produces one output image.
Resolution Settings
Every paid credit pack supports 1K, 2K, or 4K. Higher resolution uses more credits.
Aspect Ratio
Choose the ratio for your intended use. Changing it may also change the framing or composition.
Download Formats
PNG, JPG, or WebP raster images. Editable layers and vector files aren’t available.
Details May Change
Faces, text, logos, shapes, and small details can change during generation. Preservation requests and area marks guide the AI; they do not lock pixels or guarantee unchanged areas.
Check the Downloaded File
Review the downloaded image at full size. Selecting PNG alone does not create a transparent background.

Frequently Asked Questions
Image to Image FAQ
What is Image to Image AI, and how is it different from Text to Image?
Image to Image AI uses a reference image and your prompt to create a new version of that image. Text to Image starts with your prompt alone. Use a reference when you want to change an existing photo’s background, colors, or style; use text alone when you want to create an image from an idea.
What images can I upload? Can I use more than one?
This editor accepts one JPG, PNG, or WebP reference image per initial generation. To combine two reference images, use the AI Image Combiner. It accepts exactly two source images; choosing more outputs does not increase the number of source images you can upload. Use clear images with visible subjects and important details, and make sure you have permission to use them.
New accounts receive 6 free credits for 1K images. Sign in to upload and generate. Uploading uses no credits. Each generation, follow-up edit, or variation uses credits. Buy a one-time credit pack when you need more credits or 2K and 4K output. Free-account downloads include a watermark.
Will the AI keep faces, text, logos & other details unchanged?
Exact preservation is not guaranteed. Say what to change and which details to keep in your prompt. Faces, lettering, logos, colors, and shapes may still change, so check the result before using it, especially for branded or commercial work.
Can the AI change parts outside the marked area?
Yes. Area marks guide the AI toward a location; they are not exact masks that lock the remaining pixels. Details outside the marked area may also change. Area marking is available when editing a generated result.
Can I keep editing a generated image?
Yes. Use Edit this version to continue from a generated image, try a variation, or return to an earlier version. You can request 1–4 images for an initial generation; each follow-up edit produces one new image. Every new generation uses credits.
You can download PNG, JPG, or WebP raster images. Paid downloads do not include ImgtoImg’s preview watermark, but this does not guarantee that the model output contains no marks. A PNG file is not necessarily transparent. SVG, PSD, and editable layers are not available.
How many credits does an image cost? Can I generate in 4K?
All paid packs support 1K, 2K, and 4K. GPT Image 2 and GPT Image 2.5 cost 3 credits at 1K, 5 at 2K, and 7 at 4K per image. Nano Banana 2.1 costs 2, 3, and 4 credits at those resolutions. Each output is charged separately, including follow-up edits and variations. Packs are one-time purchases with no subscription, and purchased credits never expire.
What if generation fails, gets stuck, or the result won’t load?
Technical generation failures trigger credit restoration. If generation is still processing, check its status before starting another request. If the result was saved but the preview or download fails, reload it or open it from My Work. Reloading a saved result does not use credits; generating another image does. If the problem continues, contact support with the generation ID and error message.
You may request a purchase refund within 7 days if no generation or edit requested after that purchase has completed successfully on your account, regardless of the credits used. Duplicate or unauthorized charges and statutory remedies are reviewed separately. Disliking a successful result does not automatically qualify for a cash refund. Failed generation credits are restored; see the Refund Policy.
Your reference image and prompt are sent to an external image-generation service to process your request. Review the Privacy Policy for data handling. If you need specific assurances about confidential images, retention, deletion, or training use, contact us before uploading.
Images generated while your account has valid paid access may be used commercially, including images made using reward credits during that paid access. Buying a pack does not automatically authorize earlier free-account images. The Terms define eligibility; you still need permission for third-party images, trademarks, likenesses, and other protected content.
New accounts receive 6 credits once. Daily check-in rewards are separate: 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, and 3 credits over seven consecutive days. Claim each day after signing in. Miss a day and restart at Day 1. After Day 7, a new cycle begins. Rewards never expire. The daily reset is at 00:00 UTC.
Explore a different background, color, or style for your photo, product image, or artwork. Continue editing a generated version when you want another adjustment.
